The Gators will never know what hit them. They haven't played anybody (other than Ole Piss) that was willing to man-up to them all season. They will be running into a brick wall. Florida is vulnerable and will panic when they realize what's about to happen to them and their NC dreams.
Bama rolls- 35-17

Posted Sunday November 30, 2008, About: Blowout could be end for Weis
Its sad. I was defending Weis earlier in the week, but the performance against USC was pathetic. His players have quit on him. I've seen it before and it is the point of no return!

I have nothing to top this! Unless you are a professional songwriter, you may have missed your calling.

He did well in '05 (when they were the most improved offense in the nation) and '06 with Willingham's guys, by building an offense that worked for the talent he had. Obviously, he did a pretty good job with Brady Quinn. I'm not saying he's Ara Parseghian, but the guy isn't a total looser either. Not for nothing, his players have 3.0 GPA for 6 semesters in a row. Sure, he's an arrogant pr*ck, and things have blown up in his face, but I wouldn't pull the plug just yet.
BTW- See you in Atlanta on Dec. 6 ROLL TIDE!!!!

I like this idea of buy outs being tied to performance and diminishing every year, but I can't see it happening with top-tier, or allegedly top-tier coaches. Schools are so desperate to get these guys, they start with their pants around their ankles and work down from there. Coaches know success or failure is often outside of their control, so they demand the big buy outs to protect themselves and their families. I don't blame them. Besides, the big boosters generally pay those, don't they?

GatorBaitor, like I said last night, Weis IS a good Xs and Os guy. He constructed an offense in New England that allowed Tom Brady to become what he is today- a lead-pipe lock first-ballot Hall of Famer. Video tapes don't complete passes or create awareness in the pocket. Weis spoon fed Brady until he was ready to spread his wings and fly on his own. He problems at ND (and I f***ing HATE ND) are due to his lack of experience working with college kids. KNowing when to use a stick and when to use a carrot is what its all about at that level, and Charlie just doesn't have the touch for it. Eventually, he'll be back in the NFL, and he'll be successful again. Until then, the Golden Domes will just have to hold their noses and bear it.
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: T.O. stands by Cowboys criticism
Like I said, a super talented player, but do you think his interview this week helped his team or hurt it? Dallas is the Land of Broken Toys, the Isle of Last Refuge. Jerry Jones brought in Roy Williams because he knows its only a matter of time before TO self destructs and takes the team down with him. The Bengals? Sure, lots of talent and 25 years worth of bad luck.

TO is a super talented player with some big time emotional issues. He would be the total package if he could suck it up and be a good teammate. Sadly, the way he sees it, it's TO's world, and we just don't appreciate his greatness. Dallas is where divas go to die. He'll be playing for the Bengal in a year or two!

Weis is a good coach, he's just ill-suited to the college game. Just as much as Saban was ill-suited to the pros. I think he'll end up back in the NFL as a coordinator, maybe even a HC eventually. He's a good Xs and Os guy, but clearly not someone who can turn boys into men.
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: Is Weis done at Notre Dame?
Weis was a great coach for the Pats, and I thought he would be a good fit for ND. His recruiting classes have been highly ranked, yet his players have under performed. What's the connection? He seems to be trying to build a college team the same way one builds an NFL team, and folks, those are just two different animals. Could it be that Charlie is picking players with more skill than heart? Could it be that he expects them to perform like pros when really they're just kids? He acts like their boss when what they really need is a father. I always hated ND, but now I just feel sorry for them. They made a major mistake hiring Weis, and it's going to take a long time for them to dig out of the hole they find themselves in now.

Maybe Charlie could take over at Tennessee? He is one of the few coaches out there who could fill Fulmer's big orange sweater vests!
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Franchione interested in K-State job
Coach Scam is probably a good fit for K State. He is originally from that area, and I could see him finishing his career there. He was a good coach for the Tide and helped the program out of a tight spot. Then he jumped ship, abandoned his players and set the program back five years! I hope he looses every game and gets run out of town on a rail. Maybe he could join DuBose coaching HS. But no, I'm not bitter. ROLL TIDE!!!
Posted Thursday November 13, 2008, About: Jet: Patriots defense 'old and slow'
I'm a long time Pats fan, and I've been saying all season that they're old and slow. Anybody who watches the team can see that. They seem to be winning with guile, cunning and guts. They let teams run wild between the 20s, then hold them (other than the Fins and the Chargers) to 3 when it counts. Old and slow won't win the SuperBowl, but it should be enough to whip the J-E-T-S
Posted Thursday September 11, 2008, About: Will Brady be ready for '09?
Brady is a classic pocket passer, just like C-smith said earlier. Daunte Culpepper, on the other hand, was/is a scrambler. Sure, he can still sling the ball around, but his real strength was his ability to throw on the run. Brady won't loose as much as Culpepper did due to this injury, because he never had that running ability in the first place. It remains to be seen whether or not it impacts his mind in a way that effects his play. My guess is "no". Brady is mentally tough and will come back strong in '09.
Posted Wednesday April 23, 2008, About: Jets may trade up for McFadden
McFadden is certainly not a #2 pick. His "stand-up" style will make him easy to tackle. His tendency to fumble will be magnified in the NFL. He is a big-stud-hoss back with speed and power who was a joy to watch as a collegiate. Sadly, his skills will not translate to the big leagues. I hope the Jets trade up to take him. Go Pats! Roll Tide!
Posted Monday March 17, 2008, About: Paolantonio defends Favre remarks
Fans today don't remember the kind of punishment QBs took back in the day.
Their numbers don't look so gaudy, but they played a shorter season, and pass interference was almost unknown.
Bart Starr was a winner on the field, and he is still a winner in life.
Favre could learn some things from him.
Posted Monday March 17, 2008, About: Paolantonio defends Favre remarks
Uhh, does anybody out there actually remember Bart Starr?
Packers QB for 15 years
5 NFL championships
2 Super Bowl MVP awards
NFL MVP
Called his own play to win the Ice Bowl, his third straight championship
Favre is not even in the same league.
