Maybe the Bears need to take a page from the Patriots. Not the filming or the hoodie, rather not overpaying for players at their prime now and on the decline throughout the rest of the contract.
But it was a pretty innocuous comment, with perhaps a little truth to it.
Of course, we've all seen how easily McRehab's (someone else coined that name) ego becomes bruised, so Reid has to pamper him. Feeley played as well against that killer Patriot D as well as any QB could expect. If McRehab was starting, the Eagles would have been shut out and lost by 50. Easily.
I love starting my morning by throwing McNabb under the bus, then circling around the block to get him again.
I don't know how this story came about, but probably something along the lines of a DL after the Carolina game telling a reporter "Dang, we coulda had another $500", then it snowballs from there.
Wonder what it was about. If it was over being a good teammate and staying out of trouble, Haynesworth has little room to talk, you know, viciously tap dancing on Andre Gurode's head, suspension, road rage and all.
As long as 1) Randy gets the ball and 2) Randy wins, he'll catch, block, and be a good dude to be around. You just better hope Brady doesn't pull a surprise retirement, otherwise 1 and 2 are out the window.
I've seen what Favre can do, but I still don't see what McCarthy has done that puts him alongside the top coaches in the league. The true test of a good Packer coach will be what they do without Favre, so if Favre leaves after this season, lets see what he does next year before putting him on a pedestal. Contract extensions worked out great for Nebraska and ND after good half-seasons, didn't they?
"Hey, where'd the ball hit?"
"The post holding up the crossbar"
"That made it bounce back onto the field"
"Yes"
"So it's a field goal?"
"Yes"
"You sure about this?"
"Positive"
That would take what? 30 seconds? If the refs are 100% sure, they don't need to talk to anyone else, just themselves. Congrats on getting the right call, but now conspiracy theories will flow from the woodwork.
