Posted Tuesday November 27, 2007, About: Benson's Bears future uncertain
Tough break, since he'll be hobbled most of next season too, I have no idea how he'll get his career on track. Especially since he was never on it. Must be the Enis-Salaam curse.
Posted Tuesday November 27, 2007, About: Briggs wants to retire a Bear
As we've already seen and heard, his definition of fair is much different than the Bears.

Maybe the Bears need to take a page from the Patriots. Not the filming or the hoodie, rather not overpaying for players at their prime now and on the decline throughout the rest of the contract.
Posted Tuesday November 27, 2007, About: NFL analyst kids about 'USC thug'
When will these guys learn? When you are miked up, it's possible for anything you say to go out over the air. If you tick off some guy in the production van, guess what, your lame jokes go out over the air makingyou look like a bigger tool than you already are.

But it was a pretty innocuous comment, with perhaps a little truth to it.
Posted Tuesday November 27, 2007, About: Reid leaves door open for Feeley
Just when I began to think that Reid was thinking clearly again, now that his pharmacy is closed, he comes up with this gem: "[Donovan] will go down as one of the greats in the NFL."

Of course, we've all seen how easily McRehab's (someone else coined that name) ego becomes bruised, so Reid has to pamper him. Feeley played as well against that killer Patriot D as well as any QB could expect. If McRehab was starting, the Eagles would have been shut out and lost by 50. Easily.

I love starting my morning by throwing McNabb under the bus, then circling around the block to get him again.

Cam-Cam, you so funny.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: NFL investigating Packers bonuses
I understand the rule, you don't want to have a "bounty" on someones knees. But this seems pretty harmless, and a good natured way to motivate a unit. Slap on the wrist and another league wide memo is all they need. I'm sure this happens all the time, but without cash incentives. Maybe losing unit buys dinner or has an extra drill in practice.

I don't know how this story came about, but probably something along the lines of a DL after the Carolina game telling a reporter "Dang, we coulda had another $500", then it snowballs from there.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Pacman-Haynesworth altercation
Hasn't 'lil Pacman seen the size of Haynesworth? Not too bright.

Wonder what it was about. If it was over being a good teammate and staying out of trouble, Haynesworth has little room to talk, you know, viciously tap dancing on Andre Gurode's head, suspension, road rage and all.

Admit it, we're all curious to see how he does.

Pure class. From the top of the organization right down to the **** fans.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Belichick: Moss best I've ever had
Talk about stating the obvious.

As long as 1) Randy gets the ball and 2) Randy wins, he'll catch, block, and be a good dude to be around. You just better hope Brady doesn't pull a surprise retirement, otherwise 1 and 2 are out the window.
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Rift growing among Packers directors
Didn't we have this same article weeks ago? Again, 45 people on the BOD? You gotta be kidding. Nothing can get accomplished with a board that size. Coca-Cola has 12, GM has 13, Microsoft has 10. 45?
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Coach challenges Vikings effort
Congrats, you just beat the Raiders. Are you off to Disney World now? I actually like Notre Dame's chance versus the Raiders. Sad, but true.
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Packers coach in line for big raise
Belichickabowbow: Way to waken the Pack mob, I said the same thing a few days ago, albeit in a nicer way, and was roundly criticized. Take cover.

I've seen what Favre can do, but I still don't see what McCarthy has done that puts him alongside the top coaches in the league. The true test of a good Packer coach will be what they do without Favre, so if Favre leaves after this season, lets see what he does next year before putting him on a pedestal. Contract extensions worked out great for Nebraska and ND after good half-seasons, didn't they?
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Shannon critical of Canes program
So it took a few 17 and 18 year old recruits to clue you in? Nice.
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Ravens-Browns FG controversy
They got the call right, which is good. The refs and NFL claim they didn't use replay, which is good because the play is not reviewable. But what gets me is why it took so long. Here's how it should go down:

"Hey, where'd the ball hit?"
"The post holding up the crossbar"
"That made it bounce back onto the field"
"Yes"
"So it's a field goal?"
"Yes"
"You sure about this?"
"Positive"

That would take what? 30 seconds? If the refs are 100% sure, they don't need to talk to anyone else, just themselves. Congrats on getting the right call, but now conspiracy theories will flow from the woodwork.
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Strahan rips ref for 'garbage' call
I didn't see the play, but . . . which charity would you like your $25K fine to go to Strahag?
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: McNabb remains Eagles starter
McNabb looked ugly out there, and Feeley looked OK, but I'm glad Reid is sticking with MCNabb. If Reid wavered on who his QB was, then we'd hear incessant whining from McNabb and family. I'm just not prepared to listen to it.
Posted Monday November 19, 2007, About: Weis to ask Patriots for help
Uh, Charlie, I'm pretty sure the Patriot coaches have been watching home videos of opposing coaches, not ND game tape (just kidding Pats fans). And really, shouldn't YOU be the one who knows YOUR system the best? I can see asking for comment on a certain play or two, but the way his team is playing, there's something wrong from top to bottom. The Pats can't help.
