If the team spent as much time learning to possess the ball as griping about the ref, the altitude, or cups of beer being thrown on them, then all the ancillary b***** would become totally irrelevant. The U.S. looked like a bunch of grade schoolers yesterday. Whacking at the ball, trying to dribble through a defender, passing into space with no teammate within 10-20 yards. A tie would have been a gift. The better team won.

RJ, you're right. The owners will never kill the golden egg-laying goose. But the players can't complain about playing a game for millions of dollars a year either.

That's why they have a union and that's why the salary cap keeps going up as the league's revenue increases.
