Look, if Millen showed up drunk and vomiting every week on the set he'd still be better at his new job.

That's money NOT well spent, I suppose

I just hope there's more "shaft" coming his way. I think there might be.

And Jimmy Hoffa?
Posted Friday September 25, 2009, About: Crabtree making few friends among 49ers
This guy ought to consult Maurice Clarett about trying to re-write the rules to fit his own desires. I'm not saying Crabtree's gonna be mugging people at roadhouse parking lots to get by (that would be awesome, though, would it not?) but he could really flame out if this ploy doesn't work...which would be cool too. Just not as cool as the muggings.

The entire Denver Broncos organization (B. Marshall included) is thankful for this little Philly sideshow.
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: Bradley accuses some Cubs fans of racism
What a piece of news this is! Some people are racist! When did this happen? Guess what? Some people are sexist! Some others are hostile towards gay folks. What are you gonna do, change everybody's mind? Most citizens aren't like the ones I just mentioned, but the ones that are don't give a rat's **** what Milton thinks, I guarantee you that. So he really shouldn't be wasting his thoughts or words on them either. But hey, whatever.

By the way...with regards to post #2097...how in the world do we know who's a man and who isn't on this site? Anybody here could be 10 years old for all I know!
Posted Wednesday August 26, 2009, About: Why Beasley entered rehab
A lot of people here (not all, though) seem to be missing the point completely. This man realized that his mental state was leading him in the wrong direction. Maybe he had been self-medicating with booze and illicit drugs...that's what depressed people almost always do. But most are content to keep doing that, keep heading down the road to ruin without ever seeking help because of shame, stigma, stubbornness or whatever. Beasley has taken the right first step here! He's doing what he should be doing, and without a proverbial gun to his head, either! This guy is a thousand times more impressive than most other big-time athletes who've run into trouble with drugs.
Posted Monday June 15, 2009, About: Shaq congratulates Kobe
This thing with Kobe needing "his" title is such a bizarre thing. And I've had years (seven of them) to try to get it, but it still seems so small-time to me. I never remember any stories about Jerry Rice needing a Super Bowl without Montana in order to validate himself. Anyone have any old "Can Magic win it all without Kareem?" articles? Maybe I haven't done my homework on this but in my mind's eye there is nothing I can recall that matches this sad storyline. How on earth did this sideshow gain this much traction?
Posted Thursday June 11, 2009, About: Sources: Cavs may fire Coach of the Year
If Cleveland fires the newly-minted Coach of the Year, sombody (The Cavs organization, the award voters, the NBA) will have a lot of egg on their collective face. Perhaps waiting until after the playoffs to announce award winners might be a good idea. What an embarassing situation!

I must say, however, that I've seen this movie before. Worse than this actually! The Buffalo Sabres in 1997 managed to fire both the NHL's "Coach of the Year" (Ted Nolan) AND the league's "Executive of the Year" (GM John Muckler) at the same time!! I remember thinking: If they would just cut league MVP Dominik Hasek they could pull off the ultimate trifecta of dysfunction! And let's be honest, when it comes to dysfunction, in sports or government, Cleveland and Buffalo are some real heavy hitters. Go for it, Cleveland!

Beano has to be the most senile man in the modern media. I wouldn't trust him if he told me the Harlem Globetrotters would win.
Posted Tuesday December 16, 2008, About: Barkley pushed Auburn to hire Gill
Oh man, you have no idea! I lived most of my life in Western NY. Anyone that could turn UB into champions of ANYTHING has my utmost respect and awe. He did what I thought could not be done.

As an unbiased spectator (ie: no fan of Texas) that Chizik-coached Longhorns "D" was great. One of the few teams I saw all year that could deal with the Trojan offensive machine at all.

Weis is Weis, period. He (Weis) can say what ever before the game, dosen't matter. it's what comes out of his mouth after a loss is what I want to hear! Go Blue!

Oh, just ask ESPN if they will send you post-game press conferences from pretty much ANY game from ND's 2007 season! I'm actually awestruck by how irrelevant the Irish have become in just a couple of years.
Posted Friday May 30, 2008, About: Giants Super Bowl ring worth...
Well they weren't just lucky to be there. Beat at least two teams on the road that I didn't think they'd beat. And kept the Patsies off the scoreboard on many a possession. No, further review says they earned it.
