I wouldn't want to get rid of Ovie. I dont care a whole lot for some of the things he says and does, but he's a world class talent that needs to be showcased in the NHL. The playoff series between the Caps and Pens last year was amazing to watch. When Ovie is flying up the wing with the puck on the blade how do you not sit on the edge of your seat waiting. And no i wouldn't want to lose Geno, Kovy, Semin, Datsyuk, or any of the other amazingly talented Russians. I would much rather have them here than over in the KHL.

He and a few other of the Russians may have to play in the KHL if they decide to play in Sochi in 2014. Bettman needs to let them play. There are way too many talented ruskies to piss them off and lose them. Even if it's only for just one season.

So basically Ovie is worried about his checkbook? Does that really suprise anyone? I'm not knocking his talent or heart to be the best in the game, but I still think it's the money and personal accomplishments that fuel his desire not Stanley Cups and team.

That is alot of scratch to play an hour of hockey, but you could onnly imagine the memories these kids would get saying that they got the chance to play on the ice at Fenway. That's something they will hold in their minds and hearts forever.

Rutherford might as well try a couple of deals and if that don't work give the reigns over to Francis. If Maurice was just brought in for the season then it shouldn't be a big deal to let him go and give him an office job. I just hope Francis is ready for the job. I think with his knowledge and leadership qualities he'll make an excellent coach.

Big **** deal. They want to sign him to a contract like that let them. He is a steal at that cap hit. there are other teams signing guys to the same style of contracts and there were no problems then. This is only an issue because he will be older than 40 when the contract is up. He could play that long. Then again he may not. Let the Hawks worry about it.

Gabbby needs to sign a one year extension and then stay healthy for a whole season. If he can do that then ask for a big money contract. Fletcher shouldn't even offer him one till he can prove he can stay healthy.
