Two overpaid, over-appreciated, teams that are going to mediocre bowl games.

Maryland should hire Joe Pa. Wouldn't that be the biggest mindf### of all time?

Edsall is a prime example of why the Big East is doing so poorly. Not only do teams leave, so do the coaches. RRod had a great gig in Morgantown, but he was guppy wanting to swim in the big pond of Ann Arbor. Jackass Brian Kelly left a good gig in Cincy for a better gig, but he'll be gone in another few years of Notre Dame never living up to the hype. Edsall had a good job, too. He left his UConn team for one of the worst football programs in the ACC. He'll be coaching high school football within a couple years.
Posted Thursday November 17, 2011, About: Heisman race has never been closer
Is it just me or is the Heisman about as meaningful a contest as Homecoming King? If you have the greatest OL or DL of all-time playing college football, he has a 0.000% chance of winning this silly award.

Thanks. I noticed that after the fact.

That is an interesting idea that might be awesome for a season or two, but I think that it would never work without at least keeping some of the rivalries intact. Maybe if schools left two or three open dates and let the college football gods spin a wheel or roll some dice to see if Notre Dame, for example, would be playing on a certain date in Gainesville, Pullman, Corvallis or Huntington.

I did a little research. Through the 2010 season BYU has played...

...the current line-up of Big East football schools only five times in its history.
...the current line-up of Big XII teams (including TCU) thirty-two times in its history.
...the current line-up of Pac-12 teams 190 times!!! Why is the Pac-12 not offering a spot for BYU?

I am hoping that WVU can get the hell out of the Big East before next season. If we are stuck playing in that dying football conference for one or two more years, one of the few positives of it would be a WVU-BYU game as they have never played each other before.

Unless they can join without having to deal with that 27-month rule.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are too good for WVU just like the Pac-12 is too good for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Posted Monday October 31, 2011, About: Huff not happy with WVU's Big 12 move
Go back in time twenty years. Who were WVU's four biggest rivals? Pitt (ACC), Penn State (Big 10), Syracuse (ACC) and Virginia Tech (ACC).

I think WVU should feel betrayed by the Big East. If that meatball commissioner was not so slow to react about conference realignment, WVU, Pitt, Syracuse and TCU would be awaiting Boise State, Kan, Kan St., Iowa State, etc., next year.

Especially since TCU is 100% in for 2012 while WVU is still a maybe for 2012.

People from and around Pittsburgh have the Steelers, Pens and Pirates to root for. Bearcat fans have the Bengals, etc. Rutgers is not far from NYC.

West Virginians have WVU and Marshall. That's it for who they can call home teams.

...and UConn has the Hartford Whalers, right?

Two things:
1.The Big East seems to just be holding on until basketball season starts and
2.I think the ACC and Big 10 are done with the expansion. If either of them wanted Rutgers, UConn, Cincy, etc., they would have already grabbed them.

If there is one thing people from Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and Arkansas care about, it is academics.

I lived in Morgantown for six years and I swear that it never snowed for a home game during the time I was there.
