Posted Tuesday June 12, 2012, About: IS THERE STILL HOPE FOR THE PHILS IN 2012 ???
The Phillies have been using wishful thinking with Utley for a couple of years now and this year add Howard to that list. Neither player will be close to what they once were and it's long past time for the Phillies to focus on getting some more offense in their lineup. Hamels (assuming they re-sign him), Lee and Worley should be solid pitchers for a few years to come (Lee less so, but still has some good years left). But their work will mean nothing if the Phillies continue to struggle at the plate in the playoffs. Hopefully, Amaro can make another trade deadline move this year for some hitting, assuming the Phillies are still in with a chance at a playoff spot (that second wild card slot helps).

Has my comment been deleted? I think we know who is the bad person here ;)

Only if Tipper is a race all to herself.

You're problem was two-fold - one is that your comment was a broad generalization of what goes on. Painting everyone with the same brush is never a good idea.

The other, and probably more serious, mistake you made was using the word midget. It's little people now. You will shortly be getting a visit to make sure you remember that.
Seriously, Philly fans have done that in the past with players from other teams. Flyers fans gave Mario Lemeiux a couple of standing ovations, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
Only if he promises to strike out every at bat.
The Eagles cheerleaders aren't bad.
True. It was quite the broad generalization and I'm sure people in Erie are saying "What?".

No, it was Philly fans. Only a couple idiots but enough for some to make sweeping generalizations.

If you can, watch the video that Mondo Jay posted. It's an excellent discussion on the events.

Thank you.

That's great. Where did you find that?

In all seriousness, this shows what the Eagles fans were so mad at - the awful ownership at the time. They just took it out on an easy target.

And, mea culpa, they did throw snowballs so I have to retract that criticism.

There is nothing in your post that validates your conclusion or purported solutions. Allow me to refute them one by one:

Jayson Werth - greedy money gruber who left town to play for an inferior team and fan base for the sake of a little more money (the Phillies offered him a generous contract to stay). No loyalty on his part. Karma strikes.

Snowballs "gunned" at Santa Claus. Never happened and the fact that you had to perpetrate this media lie invalidates your entire argument. Santa Claus was booed and rightfully so. The guy has one job to do and only works one day. If he can't deliver, then he's gonna hear about it. We expect hard work and results. If we don't see that, well too bad.

Flare gun incident. Anyone get hurt? No. What's the problem?

Vomiting on 11 year old girl. Valuable life lesson for her about rooting for the wrong team.

J.D. Drew. Another greedy money grubber. And, ask the Red Sox fans about him and you'll see that he was lucky to just have to deal with batteries.

Court rooms in stadiums. None exist today.

The sports world in general would be much better off if other fanbases were as honest as Philadelphia fans are. Secretly, you all want to be like us and we know this.
