**Lerbon James is overrated. **
I don't know who Lerbon James is, but Lebron James is not overrated. DeShawn Stephenson, is that you?

** Cribbs 2009 stat sheet:
9 Receptions
39 Yards
0 Touchdowns
1 Drop **
Cribbs has been known to return kicks occasionally. With Quinn/Anderson at QB, Jerry Rice would put up poor fantasy numbers also.. but Cribbs is primarily a return man. Consistently the best in football over the last thee years at that.
Posted Friday October 16, 2009, About: Has Stoops lost his mojo?
Stoops does not look as hungry as he did during his earlier years. People are hard on Ohio State for losing 3 consecutive BCS games (including 2 BCS championships). How about Oklahoma, 5 consecutive BCS losses (including 3 BCS championships)?
Posted Monday August 10, 2009, About: Recruit picks Knoxville over SEC 'cow pastures'
Bottom heavy. As in geography. The south much better than the north again. Okie Lite is a sleeper because, well, you said it yourself, Okie Lite. I don't care what the numbers say, until they win a Big 12 championship they will always be second fiddle to OU. Kansas a sleeper because they're in the north and they still have Briscoe/Reesing. All they have to do is beat Nebraska to win the north. Baylor no, they can't compete with UT/OU/OSU. A bowl bid would be a milestone.

Then again, one of the mighty SEC squads signed up Gene Chizik (former UT coordinator) 5-19 at Iowa State with no bowl appearances, to skipper the program.
Posted Monday August 10, 2009, About: Recruit picks Knoxville over SEC 'cow pastures'
King football on the board. Yessss. How are things looking for the SEC this year? 4 SEC teams in the top 10. Florida deservedly starting off up at the top, only one way to go and that is down from there. Alabama, probably deservedly top 10 but what an egg they laid against Utah. LSU, that's a reputation pick there but perhaps they will end up top 10. Who's the last, Ole Miss. Kiffin making waves at Tennessee and now the ESPN contact. Not a bad offseason. Big 12 looking bottom-heavy. Look out for the sleeper Okie State, they make have learned some elements of playing defense in the off-season. Big 12 didn't exactly distinguish itself in bowl season last year.
Posted Sunday May 31, 2009, About: Oswalt looking for new team?
How can you say the Astros need a new owner? They had a run of several years making the playoffs. Even last year they were in contention in September before Selig had the Astros play a 'home series' against the Cubs in Milwaukee after Hurricane Ike. Now they are in a down turn. They have too much money committed to too few players (Berkman, Oswalt, Tejada and Carlos Lee). The previous GM Purpura left the team (and the farm system) in a sorry state. But Drayton McLane is far from a deadbeat owner. Come on!
Posted Tuesday January 06, 2009, About: Cowboys hoping Garrett leaves?
What is so special about Jason Garrett? The Cowboys finished middle of the pack with 22.6 ppg scoring offense despite having 'all that talent'. Behind the Bears (23.4 ppg!!). And if the Cowboys want Garrett hired away, man up and fire him. Don't wait for somebody to hire him away - that's pathetic!

As of right now, the Brownies are 0-0 ... in 2009. Start to clean house, start over. Put Michigan man Edwards and Kellen Winslow on a short leash.

Cavs/Celtics next Friday, woo hoo!
Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: UT's Shipley requests sixth season
Grad students do play, it's 4 years of eligibility irrespective of degree earned. This would be big for UT. Cosby will be gone, it will be Shipley and Malcolm Williams with Brandon Collins in the slot. TE Bo Scaife played how many years at UT?
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Spurrier: Why SEC is better than ACC
It's been a bit irritating. Yes indeed. But not as irritating as listening to most SEC fans. It helps to have a backup like UT to root for. I grew up in Ohio, went to grad school at UT. So I pull for both of them.
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Spurrier: Why SEC is better than ACC
1) the national championship last year was played 60 miles down the road from Baton Rouge in the Superdome. A home game for LSU.
2) another game played in a sissy dome on sissy astroturf.
3) despite the fact that OSU had 5 personal fouls, including a key roughing the punter in the 2nd half, LSU won by 14. Mighty LSU won by only 14 over horrid OSU at home when OSU brought the C-game. Why am I supposed to be impressed?
4) who's in better shape right now, OSU or LSU?
5) OSU's 0-9 record against the SEC is embarrassing, most bowl games played in warm 'southern' conditions better suited to the SEC notwithstanding. If ya'll wanted to put the nail in the coffin for OSU, when not beat OSU in Columbus in November, instead of hosing Citadel? OSU doesn't shy away from tough non-conference matchups with Texas, USC and OU (starting in 2016). Personally I'm in favor of OSU being forced to play the SEC every year until they win. Time to get the monkey off their back.
5) Last year there were indeed 3 Big 12 coaches fired - Callahan (Nebraska), Franchione (A&M) and Morriss (Baylor). Easy to forget Baylor, perhaps like Mississippi State. I stand corrected. I guess national media didn't think it was national news for Big XII schools to can Callahan/Franchione like the SEC with Fulmer/Tuberville. Everything is larger than life in the mighty SEC.

There's that weak 'S-E-C' chant in the background. Tired act folks.

Leave it to Alabama fans to wear toilet paper on their heads. Roll tide, LOL. They didn't have any Rhodes Scholars at 'Bama this year, did they? Bit of a lame crowd for GameDay this AM, the GameDay show itself is a bit ragged also.

Astros do want to trade Valverde. I second that. They want to dump salary. Are we sure Jensen Lewis can't get the job done?

I can't wait till the ballin' starts this afternoon. I expect to be bedazzled by the APs top two teams in the nation.
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Spurrier: Why SEC is better than ACC
Houston's dome is retractable and has real grass growing in it. Ergo it is not a sissy dome. The old one is a dump, it should be blown up - the Astrodome. The ACC doesn't sell out because they pick silly locations that aren't central within the region. Not to mention the matchups haven't been that compelling but they seem to be on the upswing...

We are now at 3 fired SEC coaches on the year. Alas, quality is not measured by the amount of foaming at the mouth by crazed fans and boosters.

I am an Ohio State fan also, I grew up there. The game two years ago, that was darn impressive what Florida did. Last year was much less impressive. OSU shouldn't have been there probably, but anybody else with chance choked it away (WVU). Last year was a rebuilding campaign and OSU still made it to the title game. It was only 38-24. OSU beat themselves more with dumb 15-yard penalties than they got beat by LSU. Many teams would've beaten OSU on that day, that's an issue that speaks to Tressel's game preparation. SEC peaked 2 years ago, last year a bit overrated but nobody noticed, this year its getting exposed...

-- there are two national programs in Los Angeles and oftentimes they play on the same day as each other and at the same time the Lakers may be playing as well. --

1) college students can't afford to attend Laker games. Laker games are attended by celebrities who want to be seen at the game.

2) LA is the worst sports town in America. They cannot even support an NFL franchise with a population base of 13 million. There are a lot of things to do in LA (supposedly) and people don't really care about sports that much. Look at Dodger crowds for example. Typically arrive in the 3rd inning and by the 7th many are gone.
Posted Friday December 05, 2008, About: Spurrier: Why SEC is better than ACC
Two points -
1) South Carolina does not contribute to the strength of the SEC.
2) Looking forward to the titanic clash between mighty SEC powers Alabama and Florida. Why are two mighty teams from the mighty SEC playing in a sissy dome on sissy astroturf? And the championship game is in that sissy dome every year!! We never get to see these mighty SEC teams play in cold weather do we? I wonder how good they would look in Ann Arbor, Boulder, Lincoln or Columbus in the snow. Or even Corvallis, Seattle or Eugene in the cold rain, for that matter. UF would rather schedule the Citadel in November. I wonder why.

Looking forward to tomorrow's titanic clash between mighty Alabama and mighty Florida in the mighty SEC. A mighty game played in a sissy dome on sissy astroturf. Way to showcase the conference, SEC.

I don't know what their ranking is, but Georgia Tech just put up 400 yards rushing on preseason #1 sexy SEC pick Georgia. I believe UGA coughed up a 16 point lead in that one.
