It's a choice. Basketball has become the preferred sport for inner city black children.
"The demographic shift in professional baseball is not just a coincidence. While baseball academies are built in developing countries, no such opportunities are made available to kids in this country. That's what the meeting is about. It has to do with economics and history, not just last week's news reports."
You're so far from being right. MLB has sponsored Reviving Baseball in the Inner City (RBI) since 1989, 4 programs of which are in inner city Atlanta. Here is a link to the program so you can educate yourself:
