Shockey for Lito ~ You're right it would never happen. I don't think LJ Smith is the answer, but I don't think Shockey is that much of an upgrade over him. We want a receiver or draft picks for Lito, and might look at DE's. I doubt we'd take anything else in return. If there isn't a trade done by this Sunday, I highly doubt there will be one at all, or at least until this time, next year!

Not quite, the only reason I say Gholston is your best bet is that not only is he a solid player, but he'll also accept the least amount of money to be a number one pick. I'd prefer to see Miami take either Long, but I don't think they will be as financially felxible come draft day.
The only way this move is good is if Bill is planning on getting the number one pick in 2009.
Second round they should be able to get Brohm or Flacco no problem and have a quarterback worth building the rest of their franchise around. If the Falcons play their cards right this and next year, this team could possibly be playoff bound again by 2009/2010 and for years to come.
