The fix is in!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the information you're relying on DOES NOT include the Jim Tressel clasees - as he joined the university in 2000. The information you keep citing is for incoming classes from the John Cooper era.
And, based on the fact that JoCo had about a 20% graduation rate, laugh if you will, but a 48% graduation rate (as cited in your study) is a substantial improvement. Let's see what the numbers are when the information relies only on Tressel recruited classes, and then make our judgments.
In the meantime, keep deluding yourself that PSU does things the "right" way...aside from Clarett, OSU has handled itself as a top tier should should, while your PSU Lions keep racking up felonies and such at quite an alarming rate.
All OSU fans will admit that John Cooper was an idiot..remember AIDS awareness for Andy Katzenmoyer?
Anyway...graduation rates don't matter to NFL type prospects. Playing for cash on Sunday matters, and whether you love or hate the Buckeyes...they put people in the NFL on a much more regular basis than PSU does.
Although - your weak arguments concerning graduation rates were certainly comical to me as you left out pertinent information to support your claims.
At the end of the day, do you really think TP cares if he graduates? No way. He cares that OSU has a more recent national championship (under Tressel), has a more recent Heisman Trophy winner (under Tressel), has appeared in a national championship game more recently, and has the higer rated recruiting classes (and more talent = better chance to win for those of you not keeping up with me).
The rest of the irrelevant spoosh being spewed here is jealous fans who are crying that he isn't considering their school anymore.
Let's face it - professional sports are a business first, a passion for the owner second, and about winning last. As long as the product is popular with the fans, and as long as the team makes money for the owner, I don't think many care about winning championships (especially when you consider how few teams have won Championships the last twenty years in the "Super Free Agency" market).
So, I guess my point is that A-Rod will get his millions, and the owner that signs him will probably make more money with him than without him.
