Growing up in the 80's in the burbs of Boston, I became a big fan of 3 of the 4 pro teams. I remember '86 too well sometimes. Boston had 3 teams fgo to the finals but only the Celtics would win. Hey 33%, not great but much better than 0%.
After the NYC moffia built tunnel thru Buckner's legs in game 6 of the '86 WS, I started to follow the other baseball team in my area. The Double-a Chicago/Pittsfield Cubs with Maddux, Moyer, Grace, Raffy and even Joe Girardi. So from '86 till the Pats won in 2001, it was a tough time for me and all Boston fans. But now hope reigns supreme with not one but two Red Sox titles in three years (vs ZERO for the Yankees) and the Three Pats titles and now the expected Celtics title shots.
Now if only the Cubbies can make to the playoffs two years in a row and face the Red Sox in the Series next year.

Porter is still a good LB... Greed got the better of him in the end. The great teams always find a way to win (even w/ injured players, poor field conditions, press controversies, etc)... Black n' Gold is amongst the Elite..... Keep It Real... Feel The Steel.....
