I am a sports fan. I enjoy most of the major sports, and tend to put the sport above the team. Of all my teams the Cards are my primary team. I'm also a Bears fan for the NFL, a Bulls fan for the NBA and a Hawks fan in the NHL. I am above all a sports fan though, and will write about whatever geets my fancy from day to day. I always enjoy a good game, regardless of who is playing.

Currently Albert Pujols and Joey Votto are locked in a battle for the coveted "triple crown" of hitters. The hitters triple crown, for those that don't know, refers to leading the league in home runs, RBI, and average in the same season. It has been 42 years since anyone has won it at all, (Carl Yastremski for Boston) and it's been 73 years since anyone has done it in the National League (Joe Medwick for the Cardinals). I've been blogging for the past few years at [url=http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/backell]Sporting News[/url], but they've recently, literally, sold out. The new regime is trying to do things "differently" which in this case appears to mean worse, particularly for those in the blogging part of the website. It appears they're shutting us down, or at least on the verge of doing so. Ergo, it behooves me to find a new blogging home. Hopefully I can find it here at Fan Sports.
