PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Dwight White, part of the Steel Curtain defense that led the team to four Super Bowl championships in the 1970s, has died following surgery at a Pittsburgh hospital. He was 58. The team announced White's death Friday. Team president Art Rooney II is calling White "an important member of the Steelers family." Chairman Dan Rooney praised White's "relentlessness" on the field and his caring nature off it. Last i checked there are only 2 franchises in the MLB who have missed the playoffs longer than the O's: The Royals and the PITTSBURGH PIRATES...Your favorite baseball team. If the Pirates played in the AL East I bet they wouldn't do any better than the O's. BTW, how come there's a "Steeler Nation" and no Pirate or Pens "Nation"? yea, i think we all know the answer to that. all of us non-Pittsburgh sports fans, that is.
