I apologize ahead of time... In general I reject friend invites. A lot of head cases have been harassing people directly AND thru their friends and groups list. (Welcome to the Internet, huh?) ... So when I decided to open my profile I zapped most of the people in my friends list. If you ever want to look up an old blog of mine, they all have the key word "Prove It"

The BCS has had a set of criteria in place for a mid major conference to earn an automatic berth into the BCS. The current cycle which started in 2006 comes to a close in 2009. This looks at the performance of the East, MWC, and WAC against the criteria, the other majors, and each other, and investigates the merit of the MWC in its quest to earn an automatic BCS berth.
BCS Requirements All conferences are evaluated on 3 criteria each year over a 4 year interval. The BCS is looking for a long term relationship with a conference, not a long term agreement with a 1 or 2 hit wonder.

10. Stop the Clown Proposals
The BCS doesn't want any mid-major in their bowls. The last proposal made the MWC rep look like a clown. It had no support outside his own conference.
The proposals can lead to changes detrimental to the mid majors. If the change is based on a proposal originating from a mid major representative, the BCS insulates itself from the results.
During the last proposal from the mid majors the BCS did like the idea of doing away with the formula and moving to a selection board - of their choosing. The BCS was interested in the requirement a mid…

7. Forget about a Mid Major Qualifying for an Auto Invite to the BCS
The BCS set 3 fair criteria:
1. Highest ranked team in the final BCS poll. They want the conferences with an automatic bid to typically supply a big name program.
2. Average BCS ranking for all of the teams in a conference. Having 1 or 2 big name programs won't cut it.
3. Average Conference Raking in the computer polls. The question is a conference level question - this is the BCS factoring in SOS which comprises the bulk of the computer poll ranking.
