Jasper went down again, well, I guess not down again, but started to feel pain in his left knee.  This is the same knee that he had surgery on.  He had micro fracture surgery, which is the same type of surgery that Greg Oden had and shortened the length of the career of many NBA players.  I hope he has a speedy recovery. Legions profile has been removed from the UKathletics site, so it seems like he has been granted a release of a scholarship.  I've seen a lot of people say UK should not grant his release, but that is nuts.  If the kid does not want to be there,…

So when a player plays in a high profile game such as the one UK played in against UNC this past weekend, you figure transfering is the furthest thing away from their mind.  Of course, when it was announced that Alex Legion was thinking about transfering, asked for a release, and is now rethinking the release something is going on in Lexington.  Now no one is sure if he is staying or leaving.  Honestly, if Legion leaves I am sure there is a good reason for it.  Maybe he wants to be closer to home in Michigan, after all, he did commit to the Wolverines before Tommy Amaker…

UK and UNC a Brief History

It's early in the first half of the UK UNC game.  The score when I last checked was tied at seven.  Today's game marks the thirtith time the two programs have matched up, with UNC holding a commanding 19 wins in the series.  There is a lot of history in the game here.  They have met twice in the NCAA tournament with UNC winning both of those games.  The first meeting was in 1924, in the SIAA tournament, which UNC also won.   Recruiting between the schools has also been a storied thing.  All American James Jordan led UNC to the NCAA finals in…
