I really don't think the Twins are going to sign Santana.  As others have stated, they have plenty of young pitching, so he isn't worth the 7 year commitment.  The Twins have offered 4 yrs and 80million which is much less risky than 7yrs and 125mill or so.  If Santana were to get hurt, the Twins would have an enormous amount of money locked up in him, and would likely not be contenders for quite some time because of it.People have stated that the Twins would not want Crisp as a major piece in a trade.  This is just not true.  Crisp is one of the best defensive…

I wrote this in response to the Santana trade discussion.1)  Santana would put us over the top, and not just for next season, likely for the next few seasons.2)  His salary is irrelevant.  The MLB, and especially the Sox, and Yanks, are printing money right now.  MLB player salaries have not kept up with the extreme revenue growth in the MLB.  They are at a 15 year low in fact, and that will not last long.  If we lock Santana up for 7yrs/140mil, it will look like a bargain by the time the contract is up.  ANY team in the MLB could afford Santana if they…
