Another loss last night and it wasn't even close. The carnage started with a four run first inning for the Dodgers and basically, that was all she wrote. Now without much more recapping, here is a breakdown of the Pirates bullpen: 1. Phil Dumatrait: Mostly labeled the long reliever and spot starter. Dumatrait was acquired from the Cincinatti Reds after a rocky career with the Reds. The Reds basically gave up on him and the Buccos picked him up. Dumatrait has been a mixed bag so far. The Pirates ran into a wall yesterday and Matt Morris had a rough outing as the Pirates lost last night 11-2 evening their record out to 500 yet again. Now here is a break down of the starting pitchers:1. Ian Snell- Has a nice fastball that can go as high as 97-98 mph. Has been used as a pinch runner in the past. Decent pitcher with lots of potential. Not a number one starter by any means. Smart pitcher.2. Tom Gorzelanny- Nice solid pitcher whose fastball speed will go to the low to mid 90s as season goes on. What a night for Pirates fans last night. A three run homerun by Nate McLouth in the top of the ninth inning helped send the Pirates to a 6-4 victory over the Dodgers placing them one game over 500. Now without further ado, here is a breakdown of the Pirates hitters: 1. Nate McLouth CF- McLouth is a true Pittsburgh player. He has a powerful back, has a hit in every single game so far this season, and he is a threat anytime he is on base. However, McLouth has average ability as a defender and does just enough to get by.
