I'm old as dirt. Ex this and Ex that; from formula open wheel driver (Formula Vee, Formula Ford, Formula Super Vee, Formula Atantic - IMSA). Ex Editor / Associate publisher of the monthly auto racing magazine FORMULA back in the 70's. Racing fan through and through. Have no need for the NBA whatsoever (don't allow it to be shown on my TV - unless the Lakers are loosing). Watch a few NFL games and a couple glimpse'es of baseball from time to time just to stay in touch.

NASCAR FANS WITHOUT A CLUE
Heaven forbid. What could possibly be going through the minds of a certain group of low-informed NASCAR fans to "vote-in" Danica Patrick to the All Star Race at Charlotte? They certainly were't looking to vote in the most competitive driver - she's simply a media ****. Just like Obama, of whom she ardors - neither can, or has, got the job done.
Patrick ran around the track at the back, like she does most of the time, showing nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was a waste. Nothing more. Every other driver in the voting would have shown better than Patrick. What she…

Jeff Gordon - 700 Consecutive StartsI find it difficult to get my last two, very old brain cells to comprehend that level of accomplishment. Seven Hundred NASCAR Cup races without missing a single event. And on top of that he has 301 Top 5 finishes. That folks, works out to 43%. I find it extremely difficult how some "fans" can criticize. But then, I realize I criticize Kyb for being a whining little cry-baby - Oh, but he is a whining little cry-baby.
We certainly now understand why 'Coach' Gibbs decided to bring a man to his team to drive the #20 Toyota. Matt currently…

From the Derby to NASCAR to IndyCar
This is my opinion of the weekend of racing - not a race report
NATIONWIDE
What happens in a Nationwide NASCAR race when most Cup drivers stay out of the fray? You get a great race from the young guns. Allow me to suggest that if Cup drivers, Logano, Kayne and Kurt Bush, had also stayed home the race would have been even better. They STOLE the lions share of the purse, nearly $100,000 that could well serve the regular series drivers.
Was a great win for ex-Cup regular Regan Smith in the JRMotorsports Chevy he drove a good race.…
