Watching the Phillies-Mets game. First off, whoever put a wall just beyond the wall was an idiot. What a poor stadium design. But more importantly, the umpires appeared to change a call based on what was shown on the scoreboard. Isn't that instant replay? Isn't there no instant replay in baseball? Good Third Base Coach

While I still think Charlie Manuel is problem number one for the Phils, a close second -- a very close second -- is third base coach Steve Smith. The guy doesn't seem to have what it takes. Like tonight. You send Chase Utley. He's fast on the basepath. He rounded third on a mission to score. And if he gets nailed at home, it's only the second out and you still have a runner at third. There is no nice way to say it. Charlie Manuel is an incompetent idiot. I can't call him a manager because that would imply he knows how to manage. He never should have replaced Larry Bowa. The guy doesn't have a clue how the National League works and he's been with the Phillies for how long?But last night could have been his most bone-headed move of all time.
