A student walked into my classroom last friday with no intent but to mock me. Was it Gu3 ragging on my lack of space between paragraphs on this meritorious website, or perhaps my unreasonable attachment to the Washington Nationals? Nah, he's too classy to stoop so low. It was instead another young adult with half the respectfulness and 1/4 the appreciation of quality athletic organizations. For this young man, you see, showed up in my class wearing a Yankees hat. Irony and Athletics

Peter Angelos today said, "I hope the Nationals are successful." Now if my students ever again ask me the definition of irony, I'll know how to respond. During an interview in the Baltimore Sun, Angelos went on to compliment their stadium, mention his companionship with Nationals ownership, and wish the team good luck in filling seats, even if it means a few O's fans visit the franchise now and then. Got to hand it to the Nat's - they do what the O's can't. Sell tickets, win games, and make memories.
I watched Nat's opening day against the Braves on Sunday night. The Braves blew it early with a couple of errors and gave the Nat's an early lead, but then things turned around quickly due to dominant Atlanta pitching and a few well-timed slugs by Braves hitters. Chipper Jones gets the honor of the first home run in National's Park, but it was the 9th inning that made all of the difference. When i said season tickets, i meant Opening Day.

I cant get them cuz the Orioles are being stupid and they are not letting us buy them cuz we are not season ticket holders.
