Though I am a diehard Packer fan and Favre is apparently retired (again), I have grown up watching Favre and will forever be known as Favrefan. I am a 25 year old from Oregon who is attending grad school in Bellingham, Washington. I am a huge fan of my hometown Blazers, the New York Yankees, and of course the Green Bay Packers (who I think are in capable hands with Aaron Rogers). Feel free to challenge me to a TD, I love sports and I love debate. This site is basically my heaven.

Not surprisingly, Blazer-related knews is not exactly abundant at the moment. You know, with them having been out of the playoffs for like a month and the NBA Finals looming and so forth. That isn't to say Portland hasn't been busy. There have been draft workouts, exit interviews, and so on. While the players enjoy a bit of a vacation, the management's real season is just getting underway. As a Blazers fan, it's nice to see Houston giving the Lakers so much trouble. It means that Portland didn't roll over and die, but rather that Houston is just an incredibly underrated and gritty team. It also means that the Blazers truly did get a very tough first round draw, and I still lament that the Hornets couldn't hold a 5 point lead with 30 seconds to go in the last game of the regular season against the Spurs. Had they been able to, Portland would have faced New Orleans in the first round, and I would bet a lot of money that they would have won that series. Now…

Well, that's that. The Blazers inspired 2008-09 season came to an end in Game Six of the first round with a 92-76 loss to the Rockets. I'm sure that there are a ton of sources where one can go to get complete recaps on both that game and on the whole series, and frankly I am in no mood to revisit what was likely the worst part of the Blazers season. I instead wish to first reflect on the overall success of the season, and then delve in to some more in depth stuff. I also intend to keep writing about Portland for at least a few more weeks to A) completely summarize the…
