I graduated from OU with a journalism degree and a few scars from playing goalie for the Bobcats soccer team. Now, I'm the only girl where I work. It seems a lot of people out there want to be the one to define what it means to be a "true" fan. They'll tell you how many teams you're allowed to support, how many games you have to attend, and what you have to wear when you go. With all these conflicting sets of rules, it's possible to forget the golden rule. But being a good sports fan should never get in the way of being a good person. I couldn't believe my ears when I listened to Bud Selig's press conference today! Major League Baseball's Commissioner had three days to read the Mitchell Report and all its details on the sport's Steroid Era. He said he didn't get through it. Hockey is a violent sport, but I've found hockey fans to be some of the kindest and most compassionate individuals around. With that in mind, I'm letting you know that the Columbus Blue Jackets ECHL affiliate, the Elmira Jackals, were in an accident, and their bus driver had to be taken to the hospital.I just spoke to the Jackals GM, a man by the name of Robbie Nichols, and he says the team is currently exploring ways to set up a collection for the bus driver's medical expenses.
