I watch, play, comment on, and write about soccer and basketball. I have a couple of favorite teams in the NBA (Toronto and Dallas) though if I had to choose one, it would be the Raptors. My favorite soccer teams vary by country: MLS is Toronto; England is Manchester United; Spain is Barcelona and, occasionally, Valladolid; Italy is Roma. non-Cubs or non-White Sox fan and watching a game on WGN: the
announcers are so patently biased that it renders their analysis
pointless. The Univision announcers were clearly rooting for Mexico
from the beginning, apparently unaware that a good number of Americans
(and Canadians) can speak Spanish. But that is, in reality, just the
latest in a long line of weirdness by Univision's announcers.
The real problems with the game were two-fold. First, the…

team really got going but that wasn't helped by Honduras's persistent
fouling; though only about 50% of those fouls were called. The crucial
call came near the end of the half, when the referee awarded Honduras
an undeserved penalty shot. The play itself was clearly not a
penalty. If the ball touched anything, it touched Kevin McKenna's…
