2009 has been a horrific year for the Tribe, there's no doubt about that. The on-field product is bombing and in a fire sale that rivals only the Pirates, the team has traded everything not nailed down or named Sizemore. More than likely, they would have traded Kerry Wood and Travis Hafner, but no team would take either one of them. The trades of Ryan Garko, Ben Francisco, and Cliff Lee did not affect me too deeply. After reading the Inside Baseball section of Sports Illustrated, I was surprised to read that CC Sabathia has a big chance of being moved. In my opinion, Cleveland should part ways with their hefty lefty and reap the rewards. Mark Shapiro has shown his ability to gauge talent and acquire solid players. There's the Bartolo Colon trade and the trade the Indians made with Seattle giving up Eduardo Perez for Asdrubal Cabrera. Talk about a steal. If there is one thing Shapiro knows, it is young talent. Mike Gundy is Wrong.

In the wake of this whole incident, the consensus that I've seen portrays Mike Gundy as the hero with Jenni Carlson playing the villian. Why exactly is that? He berated a reporter who was simply doing her job. I can see if he simply said that what she said was wrong and ended it at that. That is his opinion, and he is entitled to it. But instead, he overshadowed his team's victory by screaming at a columnist for three and a half minutes. I also have my opinion. If you don't like what she wrote, then don't read it.
