I "discovered" football on Thanksgiving Day, 1961. I don't recall who was playing but I wanted to be in the living room with my dad and my uncles. I guess they thought it would be a novelty to have a girl to teach the basic fundamentals to since every child born to the families in those 10 years had been female and shown no interest in the game. My favorite teams in those days were the Packers (will always have a special place in my heart), the Vikings, and please forgive me, the Jets. Gastineau Rules!!. Then, along came the Patriots and, as they say, the rest is history. As for other sports, I think baseball blows (is that the right term, youngsters?) To quote Detective John Munch, "The only thing that will put you to sleep faster than a baseball game is a documentary about baseball." However, I do enjoy watching a good curling match. Maybe it's my age or it's a remnant of a past life, but they can really be exciting, trust me.

"The only thing that will put you to sleep faster than a baseball game is a documentary about baseball." not only do i love baseball and watch it every chance i get, but i also happen to own no fewer than 8 baseball documentaries on dvd, AND one of them is the 18 - 20 hour Baseball by Ken Burns, AND i own the book the goes with said documentary. I read AND watch both to start EVERY baseball season.
