Once again the US continues to show its dominance against a desperate Mexican side. While Mexico put an all or nothing performance into this game it was still not enough and the US continues to show everyone that it is the dominant team in CONCACAF. Mexico fielded its best against a US team that showed it even has good depth. While missing the likes of Frankie Hejduk and Michael Bradley (who have both given the US strong performances in the Gold Cup) the US was still able to field a team that could take care of Mexico. Mexico definitely looked like it had the upper hand…

Copa America vs. Gold Cup

Recently I've seen a few voting boards asking US fans if its more important for the US to do good in the Gold Cup or Copa America. Most of the results have been overwhelmingly in favor of Copa America. In my opinion a good showing in the Gold Cup would mean winning the whole thing, while a good showing in Copa America would be making it out of their group. While I agree that I think the Copa America is a more important tournament in most circumstances, I wonder if US fans remember that the winner of the Gold Cup this year gets the invite to the Confederations Cup in…
