Congratulations to the North Carolina Tar Heels. They demonstrated all season long and throughout the playoffs that they are national champions. And while the Michigan State Spartans didn't win their last game of the season, they have nothing to be ashamed of for their performance this year.Thanks are due to all those who made this year's Final Four such a resounding success. My favorite Gordon Lightfoot song. And I think I saw those pics on PBS. Or maybe it was a different expedition. One of the divers left a bottle of beer in the pilot house as a tribute. What struck me also was that the ship went down in water that's not as deep as the ship is long. Both the Pens and Wings look solid to me, what's not to like? And Malkin has been hot. But if he reverts to last year's form in the finals, the Wings will prevail. The Pens need both of their stars to be firing on all cylinders for them to win. It certainly has the makings to be one of the great all-time Finals.

Is the Calypso sailing through the straits of Mackinaw? Yes, I saw most of all the weekend games, poor officiating and all ( maybe the NHL should institute a mandatory video review for match penalties ) but I'm still picking the Pens. Suicidal I may be but I'm going with my gut feeling. I've been known to be wrong before. On many counts :)
