The Philadelphia Flyers will have to play Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference finals without their top defenseman Kimmo Timonen. This is a devastating blow to the Flyers, with news of the injury coming on the eve of Game 1. Timonen was injured during Game 4 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals when he blocked a shot and the puck hit him square in the ankle. He played in Game 5 of the series where the Flyers went on to clinch the series victory; however he complained of pain during the entire game. April is in the books and the Philadelphia Phillies actually have a winning record. You would have to look back to the 1999 season to find the last time that the Phillies finished April with a winning record. Many people think that the late-season charge by the Phillies and the tragic collapse of the Mets was pure luck. Last year I would have agreed with you.
