After countless days of non-stop Brett Favre coverage on whether or not he would come back from retirement and then who he would play for if he did come back, the Packers finally ended all the madness and traded Favre to the New York Jets. I have not covered this story until now because like most people I am sick of the whole Brett Favre retirement issue. Minnesota Twins: Francisco Liriano is back up with the Twins and pitched 6 shutout innings yesterday to get the win and help the Twins move into first place over the struggling White Sox. It is great to see Liriano back up with the Twins and pitching well in his first start. The scary thing is that the Twins are in first place and have basically not even needed Liriano to get there. Ron Artest: After much discussion of Ron Artest possibly heading to the Lakers or Pistons, among other teams, the Houston Rockets have a deal in place to acquire Ron Artest for Bobby Jackson, the rights to Donte Greene, and a 1st round draft pick in 2010. This is a huge deal in my mind for the Rockets, who are one team that certainly needed another wing player to help out Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming with the scoring load.
