As a life-long Cubs fan, I have had my share of elation and heartache.  This year started with a different feeling than in the past, but being a bit superstitious, I never wanted to say "THIS is our year".  Well, now sports writers are saying it, including Jason Smith of ESPN Radio.  Jason has this wonderful effect on teams that he picks to win... they lose.  He admits he is a jinx, in fact.  Well, I sincerely hope he has not done it again.  Over the past 3 weeks, the Cubs have been lacking their usually potent offense.  They still lead the Majors…
