Am I just cynical, or is Chris Duncan's "bulging disc" a really convenient injury for the most tradable guy on the Cardinals, to have a week before the deadline?Now hear me out...By no means am I a Chris Duncan hater.  Last year when he was inserted into our starting lineup, I was one of the first ones to say that he was going to be productive.  And when he started off horribly this year, I was one of the first ones to say that something had to be wrong with him physically.  I mean, you just don't lose the kind of power he displayed over the past two…

Being born in 1985, I wasn't even alive to witness the era of Lou Brock.  But even I can still appreciate what a player like Brock does for a team.Look around the league and you'll see that some of the most exciting players aren't the guys that hit the ball over the fence in large numbers.  Sure, Hanley Ramirez bopped 29 homeruns last year, but his 51 stolen bases are what made him such a valuable player.  Guys like Jacoby Ellisbury, Jose Reyes, Jimmy Rollins, they all make their entire teams better with their ability to turn singles into doubles.  To turn a one…
