Hey, my name is Duncan Kaminski, and I am a 23 year old attending Kansas State University. I am a huge Chiefs fan as well as a Royals fan. I am currently in the journalism program here at K-State, and hope to become a sports journalist. Whether it be on TV, radio or in print, I want to talk sports. I hope to someday work for ESPN, possibly in a manner similar to Bill Simmons, or maybe a Mike Greenberg or Chris Berman. Any of that would be awesome. Hopefully this is just the start.

It's amazing how hard the Royals are getting slammed for the James Shields-Wil Myers trade. Royals' fans who had been preaching that Dayton Moore needs to make a big move are now complaining that the Royals just sacrificed the future for a mediocre present. They gave up four guys. Yes, losing Wil Myers hurts, but the fact is the guy has never taken a single major league at-bat. We have no clue what kind of major leaguer he'll end up being.  Being the fan of an inept team isn't easy.  Batman Begins came out in 2005. I am 23 years old now, and that movie was a major deal for me. I worked at a Best Buy at the time, and at one point I started seeing posters for this new Batman movie come out. I was a kid watching Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney portray the Dark Knight. It is not easy being a baseball fan right now. The World Baseball Classic is going on, and pretty much everybody I spend my time around couldn't care less. Spring training is going on, but again, my excitement about it falls on deaf ears. But just because they don't care about the WBC or spring training doesn't mean I can't get them to talk about baseball.
