as "fan" is short for "fanatic" i am not really a fan of any team but i root for the following teams; iowa hawkeyes, kansas state wildcats and michigan wolverines. the hawkeyes because my grandpa rooted for them; kansas state because i love the purple cat in their logo, and the wolverines because my older sister has always been a michigan state fan. the closest i come to being a true fanatic is with the st louis cardinals. growing up in northeastern oklahoma, the only station the little radio my grandpa gave me for my fifth birthday would pick up clearly was kmox. most summer and fall nights i fell asleep listening to the voice of jack buck calling the cardinals games. laurel brassey and sue woodstra were my heros when i was young along with ozzie smith and walter payton.
