There have been several baseball anaylists, sportswriters, and even Major league executives who have bashed the Yankees recent spending spree as 'careless' and even 'not fair.' Anti-Yankees fans (who are Yankee haters) detest the recent signing of free agent first baseman Mark Teixeira. They label us as 'spoiled' and the organization 'greedy'. In case you have been away for the better part of this month, I'll fill you in on the Yankees historic offseason. Free agent pitcher CC Sabathia agreed to a 7 year, $161 million dollar contract, which includes an opt out clause for after his third season (though Sabathia has said he sees himself playing for the duration of his contract). The Yankees also inked free agent Starting Pitcher A.J. Burnett to a 5 year, $85.5 million dollar contract.
