It was certainly a sad day for me when I had found out that the Cardinals had allowed their ultimate utility-man, Aaron Miles, to slip away. He became a free agent and he expected the Cardinals to at least be interested in him. The Cards said 'no thanks' and let him walk away. Miles is one of those players that hustles, has great fundamentals, and leaves everything out on the field. Plus, in recent years he has become quite productive for the Cardinals. I was recently listening to the radio (590 the Fan) when one of the afternoon guys brought up the point of resigning Albert Pujols in 2011. I thought that this would be a good discussion point. The Redbirds need to keep Albert in the STL. If they don't, the city's second most beloved ballplayer (behind Stan the Man, of course) would leave and probably go to the Yankees, Red Sox, or, God forbid, the Cubbies. A recent press release from Bud Selig's office stated that Major League Baseball has begun preliminary work on a new memorial. The memorial will take the shape of an enormous stove with one of the burners being permanately hot to the touch. It has been decided that the statue will be placed outside of the new Yankee Stadium in New York.
