Michael Vick Meet Paul Hornung

At first impression you'd think Michael Vick and Paul Hornung had nothing in common. Vick is Virginia Tech, Atlanta Falcons and hip hop; Hornung is Notre Dame, Titletown and Frank Sinatra.
But when you take a closer look, you discover these two have a lot to talk about.
Both were college stand-outs: Hornung won the Heisman in 1956; Vick finished third in the voting as a freshman in 1999.
Both were the overall number one draft choice in 1957 and 2001 respectively.
Both were risk-takers, having been suspended from the NFL for gambling-related offenses.

Hey Philadelphia, Where's Joe Frazier's Statue?

It's quite impressive: the Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) statue at the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. And it's become a top tourist attraction. So popular is Rocky that he's competing with ranked heavyweights like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell Center.
But for Philly to have a prominent statue of Rocky without one of Joe Frazier is like Boston having a monument to Sam Malone and nothing for Ted Williams. It ain't right.

If it wasn't so serious it would've been laughable: Napa County DA Gary Lieberstein's strange explanation last Friday as to why he would not be bringing a battery charge against Raider Coach Tom Cable for allegedly breaking the jaw of his assistant Randy Hanson at a team meeting last August.
In the DA's words: "There was no evidence whatsoever...that Tom Cable ever physically struck Mr. Hanson. And this is based on full review of the three independent witnesses."
