Melissa Tharpe

I became a sports fan in 1998. My heart belongs to the city of Boston. I love the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. I was raised a Miami Hurricanes fan and my favorite player of all-time is Michael Irvin (say what you will...) I became a Browns fan when they drafted Kellin Winslow II in 2004 (second favorite player all-time). Other teams I follow: Phoenix Suns, LA Dodgers (Manny fan since he was an Indian in the 90's), Kansas/Memphis (NCAAB), USC/LSU (NCAAF) Some of my favorite all-time athletes include: Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp, Charles Woodson, Braylon Edwards, Jalen Rose There is only one team that I hate with a passion and that is the Florida Gators. I would rather watch a NY Yankee marathon than 60 seconds of ANY Florida game. Can't stand them....

After a few lumpy and awful years, the Miami Hurricanes are heading towards a bowl game this season. They have already surpassed their wins from last season and now, thanks to a North Carolina loss, sit atop the ACC Coastal Region and is tied with Maryland for first place in the conference. The Canes hard work has been recognized by the AP poll, who ranks the Canes as 23 in the nation. Right now, I am just holding my breath...I am so excited to see the Canes show flashes of brilliance and bring Miami football back to the spotlight. However, we are young on every side of the ball. I just hope…

The Pistons are 0-2 with AI so far. I'm not panicking because this is a veteran team and if there is one thing they know how to do, its win. I still think this is a good move for the Pistons, and the game was pretty evenly matched. Glad the Celts won, obviously. Titans are 9-0, but more importantly, the Patriots lead their division! Feeling a little less stressed. That was a big win on Sunday vs. the Bills, who are quickly fading to irrelevence. That win comes at a steep price... Adalius Thomas has a broken arm. Our defense has been our strong point, but it is taking some severe hits…

Brady came...Brady saw...Brady conqured...Cleveland still lost. I don't understand. Oh wait, when your defense gives up 500 or so yards to a team (which had no running back in the 2nd half) you are probably setting yourself up for a loss. Whatever the case, Brady definatly had a great game against the Broncos. He settled quickly and went to work. Kellen Winslow had his break out game of the season...and was this week's Mr."Drop the game winning pass" winner as well. Disappointed to see that Joshua Cribbs didn't get loose this week. As for the Broncos, they came out looking as much of a mess as…
