all say we want it "proven on the field" but it seems to me that at
every step of the way, someone is trying to justify overriding on-field
results - eyeball tests, margin of victory, nasty losses, struggles at home vs
inferior opponents. That is exactly what the mock selection committee is
doing. If you support selection criteria that considers these other
factors, you are minimizing the only thing that matters in playoffs and

I cannont abide by the school o fthought that says a sporting champion can only be determined by a post-season, single-elimination tournament. And I wish fans of FBS would recognize the unique competitive format that is presented for them instead of trying to push it towards the same playoff format that plagues FCS and the NFL. Let us be unique. Let us uphold the results of conference play and permit only conference champions to compete for the National Title.
