Earlier today, I read a post in the T&R section regarding the confirmation of Zinedine Zidane (aka Zizou) as "Special Assistant" to Flor Perez. The announcement was met with a misguided comment from a poster who asked:

Last year Barca went from a DISTANT 3rd in La Liga to dominating the league and playing for the Champions League title. The question of the day is whether one can be considered a "true fan" if they stop financially supporting their team when it hits bottom. My answer: Absolutely. On any given day, you can find 20+ posts on Fan Nation where people point out that sports has become nothing more than a business. Decisions are made based on finances as much or more than they are on championships. If your team consistently makes either bonehead decisions or decisions that clearly place the dollar ahead of wins, you are no less a fan if you stop buying tickets, merchandise or anything that puts a dollar in the…

LIHI's Reality Check Moments (11/3 Edition): 1) Orton threw for 43 yards more than Russell - although he had 15 more attempts to accomplish this. 2) While Orton's completion percentage was lower than Russell's, he was sacked 3 less times. 3) Even though the Broncos scored less points than the Raiders, they had less time of possession so it's understandable. 4) Even though the Broncos third down efficiency was less than the Raiders, their 4th down efficiency was perfect. 5) The Broncos average gain per offensive play was .1 yard more than the Raiders. 6) The journey back down to earth is shorter when you aren't living in the clouds.
