Round 1 of the 2009 NCAA Tournament has closed and it is time to reflect on what has happened. First in a year with less upsets congrats to Cleveland State, Wisconsin, WKY and Dayton. Well done. Honorary mention for Cal Stat North and East Tenn State for giving us something to talk about and cheer on well at least for 35 of 40 minutes. Why is it people in public office who cant address the problems we are really dealing with have time to weigh into the arena of sports where they have little business. Yes I know antitrust and interstate commerce technically grants Congress oversight into much of sports but lets take a look a) economy in tank, foreign threats abound, energy issues with oil .... but congressmen from Texas find the most perplexing issue is the BCS.
