Yes, it's early. Just one month into the season the Chicago Cubs are showing the other contenders in the NL Central that this division is theirs to lose. Ringing up 19 runs off of Suppan last evening sent the message that the Cubs are to be taken seriously. Sure, talk of World Series is a bit premature, some even suggesting that such prophecy will backfire and ultiamtely curse the squad. Bears Draft Smart and Sensible.

Instead of the flashy, "news worthy" picks of some other NFL teams, the Bears 2008 Draft came off more like a nurse's sneaker: simple, sensible, with a little padding for extra comfort. Some may speculate that there were better offensive lineman in the first round, but the more I come to know about Chris Williams, the more I understand the logic of Drafting him over the other guys. This is a smart, athletic kid who, after benefitting from NFL workouts and subsequent muscle gain, will easily start for the 2008 Bears. Drafting a RB from Tulane is perhaps cause for…

Angelo Should Play More Madden.

I woke up this morning to two unfortunate realizations: 1.) I had no milk for my coffee and 2.) the Urlacher trade rumor which suggests to me that Hallas Hall is in ruin. If the rumor is indeed true, the only conclusion I can come to is the Bears' "rebuilding" effort has gone from a controlled burn to a chaotic prairie fire.
