So I was looking up some furlong splits for some 3 year old colts this weekend when I came across this: http://www.horseracingnation.com/blogs/zatt/Kentucky_Derby_Bracketology_123
They basically took the March Madness concept and applied it to the Kentucky Derby trail. I thought that it was interesting and I wanted to pass it along in case anyone else cares to take a look. Here's what they have:

It's a pretty well known fact that I am a homer and so don't really pay any attetion to those teams that don't effect the teams I root for. The good news is that I am a nerd, and I do like to learn new things. So, I would like for people to tell me something about the college basketball team that they root for that makes them speical. Obviously, if they have an amazing player, I've probably already heard their name before, so that's not what I'm asking for. What is something that is fairly unique to that program?

Thoughts of my weekend at Churchill Downs

I'd like to start off by saying that I really liked Louisville. It's a good sized town, and unlike Charlotte, it's not full of brand new McMansions on every single block. Yet there was still plenty to do, and it didn't really cost a whole lot so my budget was safe.
Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to give my impression of Churchill Downs. It's beautiful. And big. there are so many seats in that place, and the fact that they do sell out for the Derby/Oaks every year is just very impressive to me now that I've been there in person. You can…
