Well, my football league has resolved itself and, like my predecessor in Pittsburgh of the Allen-Bell Football League, I have reached the playoff semi-finals. Two fourth-quarter turnovers did the trick as I scored a 45-31 win over a Dallas team led by Tony Romo.My basketball leagues are going fairly well. I'm in two retro leagues and a current-day one, all with Action! PC Basketball. In today's Oregonian, columnist John Canzano has pretty much called for the head of Oregon football coach Mike Bellotti on a plate. The reason was that Dennis Dixon attempted to play against Arizona and ended up spraining his knee, forcing season-ending surgery and possibly ending his football career hopes. My question is, what would Canzano have said had Dixon been held out? Brady Leaf, the backup quarterback, would likely have had no better luck as a starter than coming in off the bench. It's been mopnths since I posted to this blog. And what months! I got to see Oregon build a dream of football dom ination, then see it crash about their ears. I'm watching the New England patriots have a season for the ages while Tom Brady puts up monstrous numbers for my fantasy team. I'm seeing the Seahawks be just good enough to tantalyze and just bad enough to frsutrate. I saw the mighty Oden felled by microfracture surgery and his team find the road a cold and lonely place without him, while showing glimmers of hope at home.
