Wih the spring practice season wrapping up analysts and footballs fans are giving their bowl picks. However, in the back of each of the players, coaches and fans minds, they know that their national title hopes rest not only on their on field performance, but on a computerized bowl system that takes away the joy of a special time of year known in most sports as the playoffs. The fact that every other sport has a playoff system to decide a champion is a testiment to just how insane this system is. Barry Bonds now seems destined to disgrace the sports most hallowed record. There can be no denying the inevitable fall of this record will likely be a black spot on the sport forever. If we come to accept this, we then ask ourselves, how can we lesson the blow of this shame.
