Recently Jason Collins, an NBA free agent, made major news by proclaiming his homosexuality. It was a big day for Collins and somewhat of a big day for the gay community. It was a nice story and everybody felt good about it.
But then people started saying he was the new Jackie Robinson.
This is where I have a problem with the story.
First off, gays today aren't segregated against anywhere nearly as bad as blacks were in Robinson's day. I feel like comparing Collins to Robinson lessens the impact of Jackie's color breakthrough.
I understand the magnitude of Collins' announcement but that…

Just want to give my two cents on the NFL's Week 4 games.
Ravens 23, Browns 16
The Browns played better than anybody would've guessed, particularly against the division rival Ravens, particularly in Baltimore. Richardson continues to find the endzone and Weeden continues to get better as a decision maker. If not for a bad drop by Greg Little the final result of this game might've been completely different. On a separate note, Joe Flacco looked great again and Torrey Smith continued to find ways to be super productive, even with Ray Rice being a non-factor.

Originally I thought MD Jennings and Golden Tate had dual possession of the ball. Upon further replay, it looked like Jennings had control of the ball and Tate just popped a hand in there to fool the ref, which apparently happened.
So now Argos and JimJ and a bunch of other fans are complaining about how the Replacement Refs stole a victory out of the Packers' collective hands. (Well really just out of Jennings' hands, but you get my drift)
On one side I get it. If the Cowboys had lost that way I would've thrown a temper tantrum, too.
But this isn't really about whether or not the refs made…
