1). Last year I called the SI Sportsman of the Year, Mike Krzyzewski (Blog 3, 4/20) and I have 2 predictions for this season. My first is a no-brainer...anyone who emerges a superstar following the London Olympics. While I do not see another Phelpsian 8-medal haul, it could be another athlete (Dara Torres-if she wins gold, A female boxer...etc.) Or maybe we have already seen the best of my other selection. Sports Six-Pack: 1) Early pick for SI Sportsman of the Year.....Mike Krzyzewski. Coach K is only 3 victories away from acheiving the all-time wins record in NCAA Mens Basketball. It is only 1/3 through 2011, but unless anyone comes along with an incredible performance in anything sports related...this is my pick. You heard it here first.2) The NFL lock-out....whatever. Sports Six-Pack: 1) Puzzling decision for NCAA concerning Cam Newton...declared ineligible on November 30th and re-instated on December 1. What could be going on? Maybe...a) The NCAA didn't want a repeat of the Reggie Bush fiasco. Cam should win the Heisman in a wash...and then to have 2 winners vacate the trophy in a 2 year period could be another black eye for college football.b) The NCAA realized that an Auburn/Oregon BCS Championship game means $$$$$ vs. an Oregon/TCU game which means $. c) The NCAA punishes Cam's dad, but not him...you couldn't make up that story in a million…
