It’s amazing what a day can do for a team like the Yankees and their horrendous pitching staff. And no, I’m not referring to the 5 2/3 innings of shutout pitching by rookie Darrell Rasner. The biggest thing that happened to the rotation was the announcement during the 7th inning stretch, when Roger Clemens pulled out the ultimate surprise in declaring that he would be back with the Yankees. Has there been anything on TV this year more disappointing than 24? Last night’s (April 30) episode helped me lose any hope I had gained from the past few episodes of this season returning to at least partial glory. Maybe we expect too much from the show, but after some of the best television in recent history, I cannot believe that these writers cannot create a more imaginative storyline this season. We might not know which teams are officially winners and losers of this NFL Draft until a couple of years down the line, but we can sure have fun trying to judge teams’ successes and failures right now.
