When the offseason began, the Yankees stated that their top priority was to re-sign veteran pitcher Andy Pettite. The clubs first offer was $10MM which is what Pettite earned last year. This year, he turned that down. After the first offer, talks quited for a few days. This was probably because of the major blckbuster trade between the Yankees, Tigers and D-backs in which the Yankees aquired center fielder Curtis Granderson from the Tigers. The deal is official. The Yankees, Tigers, and D-backs have completed the 3-team blockbuster trade. Here is the breakdown. The Yankees aquired Curstis Granderson from the Tigers. The D-backs aquired Edwin Jackson from the Tigers and Ian Kennedy from the Yankees. The Tigers have gotten the most out of the deal. They aquired Max Sherzer and Daniel Schlereth from the Tigers as well as Phil Coke and Triple-A prosepect Austin Jackson from the Yankees. Curtis Granderson will play center field for the Yankees. 1. Trade for Halladay because then with Sabathia, Burnett, Doc, and possibly Pettite the Yankees will no doubt have the strongest rotation in baseball
2. Get Holliday or Bay for Left Field
3. I say move Melky to the bench, get rid of Damon and Matsui and then sign Granderson to Play center
